As a user of Flume Products, and your participation in Flume customer programs, You agree that if you provide Your PII data to Flume, Flume may share Your PII data with Flume third party insurance partners and other trusted Flume third party partners (“Partners”) when sharing is responsive to Your interests.
Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
The PII Flume may collect is used to deliver Flume Products and Services to You and for the general operation and improvement of Flume Products, Services, and Sites. PII is used for Customer identification and authentication, for billing, for notification of policy updates, and to respond to Customer support inquiries.
Information Flume Collects:
When You register for use of a Flume Product and/or Service, You may be asked for PII such as your name, address, email address, and/or phone number. Flume does not collect PII of children who are under the age of 13. Please do not allow your child in this age range to submit any PII to Flume. If you become aware that we may have received such information, contact us immediately and we will delete it.
The Flume water sensor collects detailed data about Customer water usage and temperature from the water meter where the sensor is installed. The sensor collects data to detect leaks and abnormalities, and transfers the data to the Flume™ software application through your private home or business Wi-Fi network. This data helps Flume track water usage patterns and to create projections about future patterns of Customer water usage. The aggregated information may be stored on the Flume secure servers indefinitely. The Flume software application collects various data during setup and in the course of Customer usage. Flume collects location data and household information (e.g. number of residents) from users (but not through Products) to improve water usage comparisons. Flume tracks application usage to monitor Customer experience and for improving the Flume software application.
Flume collects data during the course of Customer support to monitor Customer experience and for improving Flume support practices.
Use of Information Collected by Flume:
Flume uses the PII collected in the following ways:
- to deliver and to provide to You the Flume Products and Services You have requested;
- to provide household water usage information and comparative information to You in relation to others;
- to send alerts that You have selected and enabled (e.g. alerts regarding suspected water leaks); and
- to improve Flume’s Products, Services, and Sites.
Sharing of Information Collected by Flume:
PII is not used, shared with or sold to other organizations, except when Flume has your permission:
- to provide to You (the owner of the account) or those You authorize to use your account;
- to provide the requested Flume Products and Services, and to operate Flume Sites;
- to law enforcement agencies, for Flume internal security audits, or where required by court order.
In addition, Flume may share PII and other information collected through Your use of the Flume Products and Services with Your insurance company when such sharing is authorized by You.
Use of Information After Your Account is Closed:
If your account is closed by You or terminated for any reason, Flume may keep a copy of your PII solely for archival purposes, and in case of any litigation to which it might be relevant.
The security of your PII is important to Flume. Our Service has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and/or alteration of all PII under control by Flume. Flume follows generally accepted industry practices to protect the PII submitted to Flume, both during transmission and once received. Flume will use trusted third parties to process payment information and Flume will only work with those entities that adhere to all applicable security requirements in accordance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Although Flume cannot guarantee absolute security, we strive to protect Your PII by using the latest commercially available security measures..
